Red Wing 8203 Moc Toe - Loden Abilene Details

Red Wing Shoe Store Special Style No. 8203

With this exclusive special model, Red Wing underlines its "low waste" ambitions and ensures a sustainable use of raw materials. The leather and the grippy outsole come from other styles and are now combined on the 8203 model.
Red Wing boots have always been developed primarily for rough use on farms and for the region's industries and have been manufactured accordingly. However, one design stands out due to its versatility in all areas of use. The Moc Toe boots have achieved iconic status with their namesake mocasin construction, where the U-shaped leather is stitched to a leather vamp on the top. The design is the oldest and most popular and represents Red Wing Shoes like no other shoe. A design-related advantage is that the shoe also fits well in width, making it extremely comfortable. Red Wing combined the Moc Toe with the lightweight crepe sole, which prevents dirt from getting stuck in the grippy but flat profile. This combination became a bestseller and is more versatile than any other model.
Last No.23
Designed for the Moc Toe boot construction of the 633 model, the No. 23 last was developed back in 1930. Most moc toe boots are based on this tried and tested last.
Leather Loden Abilene
Red Wing's oil tanned Rough Out leathers are extremely durable qualities and have been used for over 100 years in the manufacture of countless Red Wing boots. They are resistant to water, sweat and stains. The Roughout leathers are produced exclusively for Red Wing Shoes by SB Foot Tannery using a patented process. Roughout leather surfaces are usually achieved by splitting or sanding, which weakens the material. With Red Wing Roughout leather, the natural fiber side is used on the outside without any loss of quality, which gives the leather its full strength and robustness. The surfaces of these thick leathers have a very natural look as they are not treated with finishing products. The Oil Tanned leathers are among the most robust qualities of all and are therefore also widely used in the work boot sector.
